Positive Protons Gear Up for the New FLL Season: “Unearthed”

The excitement is buzzing once again as the FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) 2025–2026 season, Unearthed℠, officially kicks off! This year’s theme invites teams around the world to dig deep—literally and figuratively—into the world beneath our feet. From archaeology to paleontology, geology to cultural history, Unearthed challenges students to explore how we uncover stories, artifacts, and knowledge hidden underground, and how these discoveries can shape our future.

For the Positive Protons, our team couldn’t be more thrilled to jump into this new adventure. The theme feels especially meaningful because it blends science, technology, and history in ways that spark curiosity and imagination.

As a team, we’ve already started brainstorming innovative ways to explore this season’s Innovation Project. What can we design or create that helps uncover, preserve, or share what lies beneath the surface? How can robotics play a role in helping scientists, archaeologists, and communities better understand our planet’s hidden treasures? These are the kinds of big questions the Positive Protons are eager to answer.

On the robotics side, the Unearthed challenge mat is full of missions that test strategy, teamwork, and creativity. We know it will take persistence, practice, and lots of collaboration, but that’s what makes FLL so rewarding. Every mission accomplished is a step closer to learning more—not just about robotics and programming, but also about ourselves as problem-solvers and innovators.

What excites us the most is the chance to work together as a team, share ideas, and continue growing the Core Values that FIRST emphasizes—discovery, innovation, impact, inclusion, teamwork, and fun. The Positive Protons are more than just a robotics team; we’re a family of learners ready to support each other through challenges, celebrate victories, and most importantly, enjoy the journey.

The Unearthed season promises to be one of exploration and creativity, and the Positive Protons are ready to dig in—literally and figuratively. Stay tuned as we share updates, project highlights, and plenty of behind-the-scenes fun throughout the season.

Because when curiosity meets teamwork, amazing discoveries happen!

We are headed to FLL Ohio State Championship

At the North East Ohio FLL District Championship on January 11, 2025, we faced off against 23 other teams from the region at Champions Middle School. What an exhilarating experience it was to not only showcase our robot but also to engage in collaborative learning! Imagine our excitement when our hard work earned us a coveted spot in the top 10 robot performance! Winning the prestigious Robot Design award was just the cherry on top. As we gear up to represent North East Ohio at the FLL Ohio State Championship, we are fueled by the unwavering support from our mentors and community—thank you for believing in us!
